One difficulty that churches sometimes have is making sure that the advertising 'face' they show to the wider community is easily recognizable, consistent, and easily reproduced. To help make sure that this part of our 'brand' was consistent, we drew up a style-guide for advertising and signage.

At St. Andrew's Haney United Church, attendance is taken at worship, using this sheet. Clipboards are at the end of each pew with a stack of Communication Sheets and a pen.

If a regular participant is away for more than three Sunday's their Elder is asked to make contact, to make sure that everything is all right. As well, letters of welcome and thanks are sent to guests and newcomers based on the information on the form.

This script was created at a “Faith Formation Retreat” for London, Hamilton and Toronto Conferences of The United Church of Canada. It was meant to be a “voice play” for two male voices (Philip, Eunuch). When it was first offered, each actor stepped forward when they were speaking, and spoke directly to the audience. When not speaking, each took a step back and 'disappeared' in the eyes of audience.

London Conference Annual Meeting Worship

This script was first created for London Conference of The United Church of Canada. The Conference was looking at the theme, “Put out into deep water”. The script was meant to be a “voice play” for three voices, with a fourth acting as
scripture reader.

The second version is a 'remix' when the voice-play was used during a gathering of The United Church of Canada / Roman Catholic Church in Canada Dialogue.
