Why a 'clearinghouse'?

One of the greatest strengths of The United Church of Canada is how gifts, skills, hopes, dreams and visions are brought together in individuals, groups and congregations. People plan learning times with children, teens and adults. UCW groups develop devotions that speak to their experience. Groups put on dinner parties and fundraisers. Ministers create baptismal explorations, or building programmes, or faith-explorations for adults.

And, often, all of those wonderful ideas - along with all of the documentation to support them - get filed in an office or a church basement. So, when a sibling congregation down the street, across town, in the community up the line, 'back east', or 'out west' - somewhere - is trying to figure out how to do something similar, those resources are inaccessible.

This is an unofficial website. It is not backed by a congregation, presbytery, conference or the General Council. It's here because one minister who is excited about what his colleagues are doing thought that the web might offer a way for us to share the load and the joy of leadership in this wonder-full community of faith.

This website has been created in celebration of our official resources like, "gathering: resources for worship planners" and previous publications of the General Council like "Exchange".

So - if you'd like to be part of the sharing, come on in and see what we've got - and what you might be able to add!
